PAST IS FUTURE

History is shaped as an infinitely repeating loop. When the negative aspects of the loop are studied & learned from, there is often less chance of negative cycles repeating. When the loop is forgotten, bad things happen.

This image combines past and future in stunning contrast. The aspects of stoicism, heroism, selfless courage, & loyalty are ever present no matter during what year you think this is happening. Or even what planet ;) To me, the best part of the picture is that whoever is holding the American flag is hidden behind the horse. The planted flag is a gorgeous detail to selflessness in the battlefield.
